The Auen Foundation is a private, family foundation and was established in 1992. Ron and Sherrie Auen were very concerned about our aging population. They created this foundation with that purpose in mind.
The primary purpose of the Auen Foundation is to allocate grants to organizations organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. We are particularly interested in organizations offering innovative programs in the Southern California Area.
We believe that the elderly are one of the most important resources that ensures a vibrant society. The Auen Foundation funds innovative programs designed to enrich the lives of the elderly or to bridge the gap between their generation and our children by supporting intergenerational programs.
The Auen Foundation primarily supports innovative programs that enriches the quality of life for the elderly and aging. In particular, we look for areas of intergenerational involvement, healthy aging, quality end of life, and care giving issues.
The public and social mission of the Auen Foundation will focus on the quality of life of middle and older aged individuals, and families, and on stimulating the growth and uses of a hospice program, without government subsides or interference. Other grants will be allocated for their analysis, study, and research on confronting problems facing middle and old age.
